Job Description:

Spirit Electronics, a leading OEM distributor and supplier of I.C. testing and qualification services to the commercial and A&D (Aerospace and Defense) market is looking for an experienced engineering candidate for a role in our semiconductor assembly and test lab.  In this role the candidate will work with the Technical Sales Team to understand customer requirements, provide quotes and estimated times to complete specific projects or customer orders.  The company sees a variety of part types, devices and customer requirements and the candidate will be responsible for developing new processes or qualifying new materials and equipment to support them.  Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the lab equipment is being utilized efficiently, production technicians are working effectively and identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and costs of the Lab.  Finally, the candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining quality standards and procedures and working together with the Quality team to pass certifications and audits. 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as main point of contact for technical sales team for RFQ, Quoting, Deliverables and Cycle Time requirements.
  • Hands on execution, including occasionally running the equipment, of Wafer Dicing, Die Attach, Wire Bond, Encapsulation, Lead, Trim and Form, Ball Attach, Singulation and other assembly processes.
  • Manage lab resources to ensure high utilization and timely completion of work orders.
  • Track, report and expedite lab work orders to ensure meeting customer committed schedules.
  • Analysis of test and inspection results to provide customers with results, conclusions, and suggested follow-up actions.
  • Establish new processes and equipment in the lab including installation, buy off, qualification, training and process documentation.
  • Continuously improve the yields, cycle times and capabilities of assembly processes in the lab while maintaining a balance with resources and projects.
  • Act as subject matter expert for the production team to keep projects and orders moving thru the lab and resolving quality and technical issues.
  • Coordinate with Quality to ensure SOPs are updated and accurate, lab meets AS9000 and ISO9001 quality standards, and successfully pass customer and certification audits.
  • Conduct Assembly Lab tours and act as spokesman for Spirit assembly capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or related degree. 
  • 5 to 7 years of semiconductor device manufacturing experience.
  • Hands on experience with all aspects of Semiconductor Assembly process, materials, and equipment.
  • Specific experience with developing or implementing new assembly processes or materials.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor reliability testing and standards.
  • Extensive experience with Mil. Standards for EE and Semiconductor components.

Position Overview

As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will develop test structures and ensure efficiency and quality of electrical equipment and systems. You will also understand the needs of the projects you’re working on, troubleshoot errors, and conduct tests and examinations, among others. You will commonly work with a variety of equipment, including but not limited to oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, etc.

Electrical test engineers use their knowledge of electronics and engineering principles to design and implement tests that verify the performance of these components and systems. This may include anything from simple checks of basic functionality to more complex evaluations of performance under various conditions or scenarios.

Requirements

  • Experience with electrical test of semiconductors, passives and discrete components using test equipment, bench set up rack and stack, power supplies, curve tracers, high pot testers, etc.
  • Experience with MIL STD 883 screening and qualification and the process that are included in the spec ie. Temp cycle, HAST, HTRB, Burn In, 85/85, solder exchange, XRF, CSAM, PIND, etc.
  • Experience with temperature stressing of parts at military specification for extended periods of time.
  • Electrical characterization of parts
  • Experience reading electrical data sheets for EEE components and interpreting the parameters for test
  • Electronics experience. Use of Bench test apparatus, Oscilloscope, Power supplies, Logic Analyzers, Good analytical and hardware troubleshooting background.
  • Experience with non-destructive testing a plus.
  • Experience with Burn-in Board Drivers and programming desirable.
  • Experience in Reliability stress techniques.
  • Experience with National Instruments, LabVIEW a Plus.
  • Experience with Mil. Std 883 and JEDEC stress tests, environmental testing and flows a must.
  • Familiarity with AEC and other test standards.

Description:

Spirit Electronics, a leading OEM distributor and supplier of I.C. testing and qualification services to the commercial and A&D (Aerospace and Defense) market is looking for an experienced technician candidate for a role in our semiconductor DPA and FA lab.  In this position you will be working closely with the engineering teams to electrically test failed Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and individual components as well as performing destructive analysis on ICs and EEE components as part of component screening, uprating and failure analysis.  You will be preparing samples for electrical test, performing electrical tests, performing destructive sample prep on components as well as performing optical inspections and analysis.  The candidate will also be responsible for the data collection and analysis on samples and reporting them out to the engineering teams.  Lastly, this role will be responsible for maintaining supplies, equipment calibration and meeting the customer delivery dates.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare samples for analysis using lab equipment such as diamond saw, polishing grinder, chemical etch, epoxy potting and SEM-FIB.
  • Perform initial analysis of samples using X-ray, optical microscope, C-sam, digital multimeter and other lab equipment.
  • Maintain traceability for each sample to ensure that data and results can be properly documented and analyzed.
  • Work together with FA engineer to provide sample prep and analysis of specific samples.
  • Track, handle, and monitor chemicals and supplies in the lab in the lab to prevent expiration and shortages.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment following 5S principles.
  • Monitor equipment to adhere to calibration schedules and ensure reliable measurements and analysis.
  • Track and monitor work orders and projects in the lab to comply with customer delivery schedules.

Qualifications:

  • 2 yr Technical/Associates degree in Electronics, Semiconductor or PCBA areas preferred
  • Experience in integrated circuit manufacturing, Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing or testing, or electronic component testing would be ideal.
  • Experience using an oscilloscope, multimeter, Pico ammeter, DMM and/or curve tracer is strongly desired.
  • Experience operating Failure Analysis lab equipment such as saw, grinding wheels, polishers, chemical etch and SEM is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Position Overview

At Spirit our Technical Sales Support employee will provide technical support and report directly to our Director of Technical Sales. These individuals are advocates for the customer and work as the liaison between our direct sales force and customers. Being a Technical Sales Support provides documentation on product specifications and usage to the sales teams.  The support position will require understanding of the technical aspects of the Spirit value add services to include MIL STD 883, screening and qualification requirements, interconnect modification, circuit card assembly, environmental and reliability testing, non-destructive testing, customer source control drawings, datasheets, and customer specific flows.  The support position must have strong writing skills, communication skills and develop skills to manage the Spirit CRM and JDE software.

Position Overview

Provide excellent customer service to our customer base of Tier 1 Defense Contractors and increase sales thru contact with customers and buyers. Nurture and maintain sales/business relationships initiated by executive sales/senior account reps/inside and outside sales/product pricing specialists. Process customer orders and flow downs of critical quality requirements to our manufacturers. This position is the liaison between our customer and OEMs for the end to end order management processes. Maintain company standards involving ethical and moral character while professionally representing Spirit Electronics. Technical competency is a must; accuracy and attention to details of extensive part numbers, drawing numbers and Excel skills are mandatory.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with customers
  • Familiarize account base with Spirit’s customer solutions, line-card, and value-added services
