Policies & Compliance

Industry best practices to support our customers and protect our supply chain

Product Safety Awareness

Product safety drives everything we do at Spirit Electronics. Our processes and training ensure that every team member understands their critical role in ordering, inspecting, testing, and delivering safe, reliable electronics for high-reliability applications.

Business Ethics

Spirit’s ethics program educates our team on industry best practices to conduct business with integrity. We have an open team culture that encourages feedback and communication around how we do business with our customers and suppliers.

Cybersecurity

Spirit Electronics is CMMC level 2 compliant and audited. We were early adopters of the NIST cybersecurity framework, ensuring continuous protection of customer orders, data, and communications across the supply chain. All CUI, ITAR, and EAR collateral under our care, custody, and control are safeguarded in accordance with NISPOM requirements.

Counterfeit Prevention

Our team receives comprehensive training in counterfeit prevention protocols. We source exclusively through authorized manufacturers and maintain strict traceability and inspection procedures to identify, investigate, and report suspect products. Our program includes robust controls for nonconforming products, scrap materials, and returns.

Export Compliance for ITAR & EAR

Spirit Electronics is registered with the DDTC and licenses all export orders in full compliance with US federal regulations. Our export control program operates within our QMS framework to ensure ITAR and EAR compliance through comprehensive policies, employee training, data and cybersecurity measures, facility security protocols, visitor management, and rigorous customer and supplier evaluations. For additional details, review Spirit’s Management Commitment to Export Compliance.

Customers must provide end-use information before order acceptance. Sales to customers without proper end-use disclosure or appropriate financial and business documentation are prevented through process controls and approval requirements. Spirit Electronics explicitly prohibits sales to suspicious entities, sanctioned companies, embargoed countries, or any party posing a national security threat.

Anti-Human Trafficking

Spirit Electronics enforces a zero-tolerance policy and comprehensive prevention program against trafficking in persons. Our certification statement outlines reporting procedures and awareness requirements for our anti-human trafficking program.

Conflict Minerals

Spirit Electronics supports transparency requirements under Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act, which mandates disclosure of conflict minerals—tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold—sourced from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or adjoining regions. We collaborate with suppliers to obtain conflict mineral documentation and are committed to never knowingly sourcing products containing these materials. For reporting data, contact your Spirit sales or quality representative.

REACH

Spirit Electronics complies with the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulations. We obtain and maintain documentation provided by our suppliers and can request additional REACH information as needed. For data requests regarding your order or questions about our support of REACH or other material restriction and composition standards, please contact your Spirit sales or quality representative.
